Kai - Go Grey in May Day 6
Share
Each day in conjunction with Go Grey for May, I’m sharing incredible stories of our community of Brain Cancer Warriors. Buy a T shirt, Beanie or wear an old grey t shirt to support the movement around Brain Cancer.
Name: Kai Michael Raecke
DOB 12/22/56,
DOD:4/22/2020
Kai was a well known motorcycle photojournalist and editor for Easyriders Magazine. He was married to a preschool teacher and between the two of them they had a blended family of 5 daughters. Kai was an adventurous spirt who loved to travel the world and an avid reader. His left temporal lobe tumor impaired his speech, but not his spirit. Up until a week prior to his passing, he wrote a book despite the limited function he had with his right hand. If he had one message to pass on to anyone, it would be to follow your dreams and live life to the fullest our days are counted here on earth, love with all your heart and have no regrets. In bringing awareness to this disease, he would say be a champion for your own health, there may be little signs that you may overlook which could be early symptoms of the disease. Until there is a cure, seeking early treatment may help extend the time you spend with your loved ones. More funding needs to go towards prevention and successful treatment of this disease. If the government can send a rover to the planet Mars, they can invest the same amount of money in finding a successful treatment for all cancers.
