Myles - Go Grey in May Day 1

Myles - Go Grey in May Day 1

Each day in conjunction with Go Grey for May, I’m sharing incredible stories of our community of Brain Cancer Warriors. Buy a T shirt, Beanie or wear an old grey t shirt to support the movement around Brain Cancer.

MYLES
My name's Bec and my Husband is Myles. We have a beautiful 11 month old boy named Oliver and my husband is living with a grade 4 GBM. On the 3rd Dec 2019 Myles was at work in Northern WA (FIFO worker) when he had a seizure, he was flown home and 3 days later we found out he had a 12 cubic cm sized growth in his left frontal lobe. He had a craniotimy on the 17th Dec to retrieve a sample. In Jan 2020 we finally got the results back and its words you never want to hear! Grade 4 GBM, like WTF Myles is only 26yrs old this cant be right! We were told Myles has a 50% chance of surviving 15 months. Our life as we knew it was turned upside down, I was 5 months pregnant, we had just built our family home and here we were facing the biggest battle of Myles' life. Myles was booked straight in for another surgery where they removed as much of the cancer as possible unfortunately they couldn't remove it all, then in March just as COVID-19 hit big time Myles started his long road of Radiation and chemo treatments. 13 months later and he has taken his final Chemotherapy treatment, current scan are showing no new growth.  It has been an absolute roller-coaster but Myles is honestly the strongest person I know, his positivity towards living life to the fullest is so inspiring. I just cross my fingers and toes that we can make a difference to help find awareness and a cure.
